Golf enthusiasts have a new destination as the former Okemo Valley Golf Club is now rebranded as Fox Run Golf Club. The $2.71 million transformation by Fox Run Properties LLC promises not only an enhanced golfing experience with a nationally-ranked par-70 course and extensive renovations but also a year-round outdoor retreat. The facility embraces inclusivity with a novice-level course and plans for additional amenities, making it a hub for the community. The renovations are designed to provide a superior golfing experience and a welcoming environment for families and beginners.
Big news for golf lovers and outdoor enthusiasts! The beloved Okemo Valley Golf Club has undergone a major transformation and is now rebranded as Fox Run Golf Club. This stunning property has been revamped following a significant acquisition by Fox Run Properties LLC, costing a neat $2.71 million. With the new ownership and a fresh name, there’s a lot to look forward to!
Previously, this prime 279-acre property was under the wing of Vail Resorts, which had acquired it along with the Okemo Mountain ski resort back in 2018. After their time managing the club, they’ve decided to sell, paving the way for new opportunities. The change comes with an exciting promise of enhancements and developments, starting with extensive renovations, which were already in the works before the acquisition closed.
Fox Run Golf Club boasts a nationally-ranked par-70 golf course that’s bound to impress both amateur and seasoned golfers alike. The course features a beautifully designed 6,400-yard layout, complete with undulating bent-grass greens, all framed by picturesque trees and decorative grasses that perfectly complement the stunning Green Mountains backdrop. With around 20,000 rounds of golf played annually, this course has become a beloved spot for those looking to enjoy a round on a beautiful day.
In an effort to enhance the golfing experience, Phase I of the renovations has made some exciting updates! Six new forward tees have been added, making the course more accessible for players of all levels, while 95 bunkers have been restored with fresh sand. To ensure quick and smooth play, new Salsco rolling equipment has been purchased, which is sure to result in faster greens that allow for a satisfying golfing experience.
Fox Run Golf Club is not just a golfer’s paradise; it also embraces year-round fun. During winter months, the property transforms into the Okemo Valley Nordic Center. With 14 miles of Nordic track trails and 8 miles of snowshoeing trails, it’s perfect for those chilly days. Plus, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy direct access to the regional snowmobile trail system, with convenient indoor parking and even a gas refilling station for snowmobiles!
This new golfing haven welcomes everyone, from seasoned golfers to families and beginners. With a four-hole novice-level course designed specifically for families and beginners—where holes range from 60 to 100 yards—Fox Run is focused on inclusivity. As for future plans, two additional development phases are on the horizon, promising to bring hospitality and luxury senior housing options to the area. How exciting is that?
The renovated facility includes a beautiful two-story clubhouse, housing a full-service pro shop, a cozy restaurant known as Calcuttas that offers modern American cuisine, and locker rooms. Spanning an impressive 9,200 square feet, the clubhouse connects to a 12,000-square-foot indoor training facility that features indoor driving nets, a putting green, and a simulator to help players hone their skills.
It’s not just about golf, either! The outdoors beckons with new bocce courts, a horseshoe pit, and plans for tennis and pickleball courts in future phases. Whether you’re looking for a casual game with friends or to perfect your swing, there’s something for everyone.
Fox Run Golf Club is more than just a golf club; it’s a community hub. With 170 private members, it also remains open to the public, encouraging everyone to come and enjoy the facilities. Whether hitting the greens or taking a leisurely stroll along the newly constructed 500-yard scenic dog walk with breathtaking overlooks, Fox Run invites all to experience the beauty and camaraderie it has to offer.
So, mark your calendars and get ready to experience the enchanting Fox Run Golf Club—a place where nature, sport, and community beautifully intertwine!
