The Florida State women’s golf team excelled at the Briar’s Creek Invitational, clinching the individual and team titles. Mirabel Ting led with an impressive score of 11-under par, while teammate Lottie Woad secured a third-place finish. The Seminoles demonstrated their prowess with 32 birdies and three eagles over two rounds, extending their winning streak to four tournaments. With upcoming challenges, they aim to maintain their momentum in collegiate golf.
Golf enthusiasts, gather around because Florida State’s women’s golf team is on fire! This past weekend, they showcased their remarkable skills at the Briar’s Creek Invitational, walking away with both the individual and team titles. With Mirabel Ting leading the charge and securing first place, along with her teammate Lottie Woad coming in third, the Seminoles are proving to be quite the force this season.
Ting dominated the field, wrapping up the tournament with an impressive score of 11-under par, that’s 67 and 66 for her rounds. To put that in perspective, Ting won the event by five shots over her nearest rival, Purdue’s Jasmine Kahler, who finished with a respectable 6-under par. Not to be outdone, Woad also played beautifully, finishing at 5-under par, tying for third place with SMU’s Mackenzie Lee.
Florida State wasn’t just about individual glory; as a team, they racked up an impressive 32 birdies and even got three eagles throughout the two-round event, which has them at the top of the field for the best score in these categories. Unfortunately, due to unexpected weather conditions, the tournament’s final round was canceled, yet the Seminoles had already cemented their dominance.
To make this victory even sweeter, it’s worth noting that this isn’t just a one-off win. The Florida State Seminoles have claimed team and individual titles in four straight tournaments now! Earlier victories include:

Aside from the star players, the team also had Sophia Fullbrook placing 17th, providing a steady influence throughout the rounds. Additionally, competing individually, Alexandra Gazzoli made an impact by finishing in ninth place. In the overall standings, Florida State finished with a total score of 567 (-9), while Purdue and SMU tied for second with scores of 581 (+5).
On the individual front, the competition was fierce, with Momo Sugiyama of Purdue and Isabella McCauley from Minnesota finishing in the top five, both at 4-under par. Kent State also made headlines with their highest individual performer, Petra Babicova, who finished even at 144, tying for 13th overall.
With the Briar’s Creek Invitational in the books, the Florida State Seminoles are gearing up for their next challenge at the Old Barnwell Match Play taking place in Aiken, South Carolina. As the team aims to extend their winning streak to five tournaments, fans will be eagerly waiting to see if they can continue their impressive journey.
As of now, Ting holds the impressive title of No. 3 in Clippd’s college golf rankings, with teammate Woad closely behind at No. 6. This season is heating up, and it’s clear that the Seminoles have what it takes to go all the way!
