MYRTLE BEACH — There’s a new chicken sensation heading our way, and it’s got everyone in Carolina Forest buzzing with excitement! Get ready, folks, because Slim Chickens is officially opening its doors on September 30 at 135 Sapwood Road. This is the first location in our Myrtle Beach area, and trust us, you’re not going to want to miss out on this mouth-watering addition to the neighborhood!
First things first—what’s a chicken restaurant without some fantastic dishes? Slim Chickens is known for their hand-breaded chicken tenders, perfect for dipping in their variety of specialty sauces. Chicken lovers will be treated to not just tenders, but a full menu that includes wings, sandwiches, and of course, the classic chicken and waffles combo! And let’s not gloss over the new big dill sandwich, featuring a crispy fried chicken breast piled high with both fresh and fried pickles, topped with a tangy dill aioli. YUM!
Oh, and did we mention desserts? Whether you have a sweet tooth for milkshakes or fancy something extravagant like their mason jars filled with Oreos, brownies, or cheesecake, there’s something to satisfy every craving.
Slim Chickens is the brainchild of Larry and Jody Chandler, an uncle-nephew duo who are no strangers to the restaurant game. With a bright past of successful restaurants, including multiple Firehouse Subs locations in the Carolinas, these guys know how to serve some delicious food and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
“We both lived in Myrtle Beach for quite some time off and on,” Larry mentioned. “We’re so excited to finally get a Slim Chickens going in Carolina Forest.” It’s clear that Larry and Jody are driven by more than just profits; they are passionate about providing jobs and serving their community—a selfless sentiment that resonates with many of us in the area.
Speaking of community impact, Slim Chickens plans to create nearly 100 new jobs for local residents. “We’re not in it just for ourselves,” Larry said. “It’s good to be able to create some good quality jobs for people to help not only themselves but also the economy in the area.” It sounds like Slim Chickens is all about lifting each other up, and what’s better than that?
Once the doors swing open on September 30, locals can expect a fantastic dining experience filled with friendly service and delectable dishes tailor-made for the whole family. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or planning a fun family outing, Slim Chickens aims to make every meal memorable.
And the good news doesn’t stop there! After tackling the culinary scene in Carolina Forest, the Chandlers have plans to open another Slim Chickens location in Conway in early 2025. Looks like chicken lovers across the Grand Strand are in for a treat!
So mark your calendars and get ready for some delicious chicken bites because Slim Chickens is about to change the dining game in Myrtle Beach. Cheers to good food and community spirit!
