FIRST ALERT: Drying Trend, Sunshine Returns This Week

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – After a dreary, gloomy Monday, residents of Myrtle Beach can now look forward to a week of sunshine. Thanks to the push of a cold front offshore, the city will welcome the sun back into its daily schedule.

The Return of the Sun

Although a few morning showers and storms may remain offshore, most areas are expected to enjoy a dry day. As the cold front departs, it leaves in its wake drier air conducive to a sunny day. Furthermore, the city will notice a diminish in humidity, replaced by more temperate weather.

Temperatures are expected to range in the lower 80s near the beaches and upper 80s inland. Despite latest predictive models suggesting an isolated rain shower today, the chance of this happening is minimal and is currently estimated at a 20% likelihood.

The Rest of the Week

As residents soak up the sunshine today, the forecast for the remaining part of the week is equally favorable. Dry weather is expected to prevail through to Friday while the heat and humidity gradually increase. By the end of the work week, temperatures are predicted to rise into the upper 80s and even touch the lower 90s.

Rising Temperatures towards the Weekend

In anticipation of the heat, the warmest days of the week are slated for Friday and Saturday. Certain inland spots may even register temperatures in the mid-90s. Isolated storm chances will return during the weekend but the majority of the population will remain dry.

Humidity Levels on the Rise

The intensity of the humidity is set to escalate, pushing up the heat index towards the end of the work week and over the weekend.

Cold Front Expected Sunday

Sunday promises a reprieve from the heat with the arrival of a dry cold front. Whilst Saturday will continue to register high temperatures, a subsequent weak cold front is forecasted to bring slightly cooler weather for Sunday.

Residents of Myrtle Beach region can now exhale after the dim, damp Monday and look forward to a predominantly dry week filled with sunshine. They should, however, keep an eye out for scattered showers and stay prepared to adjust their plans if need be.
