Throughout the night, the forecast indicates that areas of sea fog, and even pockets of dense sea fog, are on the move and might drift ashore. This type of fog can seriously hamper visibility, making driving a challenge. At its worst, visibility may dip to 1 to 3 miles, and in more severe cases, it could fall below half a mile in those dense patches. That’s why it’s crucial to be cautious if you’re planning to drive.

More fog news is coming your way! An additional advisory was released at 8:49 a.m. on Monday for nearby areas including Myrtle Beach, Coastal Georgetown, and Northern Horry, where worsening visibility is expected to drop to a quarter mile or less. Traffic officials are reminding everyone to drive defensively or, if it can be helped, avoid driving altogether in these tricky conditions.
After the fog rolls in tonight, expect patchy fog to return after midnight, with temperatures lingering around a cool 44°F. But don’t fret if you feel like getting out to enjoy the sunshine! The weather looks brighter for Monday with forecasts promising morning fog, followed by sunny skies and a lovely high nearing 68°F.
Looking ahead, the five-day forecast seems promising with mostly sunny weather and mild temperatures. For Tuesday, temperatures are expected to rise to a cozy 73°F, leading into a gradual warming trend midweek that should keep spirits high for those who love warm weather!
So, whether you are planning an evening out or just settling in for the night, stay alert and take the appropriate precautions if you must drive. With a bit of patience and common sense, you can navigate through this foggy situation safely and be ready to bask in the sun when it arrives!
