Professional kitchen preparation.
Myrtle Beach’s very own International Culinary Institute, a part of Horry Georgetown Technical College, is opening its doors to the world in an informative open house event. The open house promises to be a feast for the senses, offering food enthusiasts and culinary career hopefuls an opportunity to explore the various possibilities this industry has to offer.
Drawing interest across the state, the institute’s open house will provide participants unparalleled access to cutting-edge, professional kitchen facilities. Guests will have the opportunity to observe live cooking demonstrations and interact with world-class chef instructors who have honed their craft in renowned kitchens around the world.
The open house event aims to expose potential students to the realities of a culinary career, beyond the glitz and glamour often portrayed on television. As per Dante Passeri, one of the professionals at the institute, “Our students need to experience every aspect of a functioning hospitality business, from cleaning up rooms to running the front desk.”
The International Culinary Institute’s open house is slated for Thursday, July 11, running from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is located on HGTC’s Grand Strand campus near The Market Common at 920 Crabtree Lane in Myrtle Beach.
In addition to the Culinary Institute, HGTC’s Conway Campus will hold an all-campus open house on July 18 between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Horry Georgetown Technical College will commence their fall semester classes on August 26.
To ensure that education is accessible to all, HGTC offers zero tuition programs for interested individuals. This initiative stands testament to HGTC’s commitment to promote and facilitate training and education in the culinary arts.
Whether you’ve always dreamed of opening your own restaurant, becoming a celebrated pastry chef, or getting involved in the nutritional side of food production, this open house event is a stepping stone to your culinary career. The breadth and depth of the culinary world opens up through such events, proving that the love for food can indeed be the key to a rewarding future.
The International Culinary Institute at Myrtle Beach extends a warm invitation to all food enthusiasts to explore the many-tastes of a culinary career and turn a passion for food into a fulfilling vocation that feeds the soul as well as the body.
