Controlled Burn Scheduled to Commence Over the Next Month Off Water Tower Rd in North Myrtle Beach

North Myrtle Beach Prepares for Controlled Burn

As of Tuesday, North Myrtle Beach city officials announced that a controlled burn will be conducted throughout the next four weeks. To heed, the affected areas will be off Long Branch Loop and Water Tower Road near the Hwy 31 interchange.

Moderate Smoke Dispersal Expected

While fire officials have increased measures for safety and efficiency, residents should anticipate some smoke in the ensuing weeks. Although smoke dispersion is expected to stay moderate, it may be visible from Hwy 22 at certain times.

Fire Department Involvement

Ensuring public safety and overseeing the controlled burn process, The North Myrtle Beach Fire Department will be actively monitoring the burn. The local fire department, equipped with expert firefighters and state-of-the-art equipment, will stand guard throughout the controlled burn period.

Stay Updated

Residents around Water Tower Road and the surrounding areas are advised to stay in tune with the latest updates and advisories in the following weeks. Furthermore, residents have been asked to exercise caution around the aforementioned areas during the time of the controlled burn.

Fire departments use controlled burns to help minimize the risk of uncontrolled wildfires. Although this procedure may cause some inconvenience for residents over the next month, it is an essential preventative measure against potential future wildfires. Controlled burns can get rid of excess vegetation that can fuel wildfires, thus, regulating the forest’s health and lessening the impact of wildfires.

The cooperation of residents will be crucial during this period to ensure the operation runs smoothly and successfully. Stick with us at the HERE News Network for more updates as the situation progresses.
