After successful performances at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge and the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in their home turf, the Chants are setting their sights on facing stiff competition from 23 different schools, including rivals such as App State and powerhouse teams like Virginia Tech and host South Carolina.
The Chants have been on a hot streak, with standout performances from athletes like sophomore AJ McKay Jr. and freshman Ebba Hedberg. In the Myrtle Beach Challenge, McKay Jr. and Hedberg claimed top finishes in the MVP race, propelling the team to victory in both the men’s and women’s events. The Alan Connie Invitational saw the Chants continue their dominance with 12 top-place finishes and 39 placements in the top-10.
The Weems Baskin Invitational promises to be another thrilling showcase of talent, with the men’s and women’s field events kicking off at 12 P.M. ET tomorrow. Fans can follow all the action on social media @CoastalTFXC (Twitter), facebook.com/CCUChanticleers (Facebook), @GoCCUSports (Instagram), or by visiting the official home of Coastal Carolina Athletics at goccusports.com.
