Chanticleers Standouts in Academia

Brie Normandin, a promising freshman on the softball team, received the prestigious General Chemistry Student of the Year award. She was one of just three students selected for this honor, indicative of her outstanding performance in Chem111/Chem112 over the academic year.

Jay Wrightsman, another talented Chanticleer, excelled in languages, securing the title of Spanish for Healthcare Professions Student of the Year. A native of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Wrightsman has shown great proficiency in Spanish, believed to bolster her intent to serve the Hispanic community effectively in her future medical career.

Libby Pippin, not lagging behind, claimed the 2023-24 Department of Communication, Media, and Culture’s Most Outstanding Sophomore Award. Her commitment and stellar academic record throughout the year have made her a notable student within her department.

Additionally, Keirstin Roose, a junior on the team, has made notable strides both on and off the field. Nominated for the Exercise Science Student of the Year Award, Roose’s dedication to her studies has been palpable. Furthermore, she took first place in the 2024 CCU Undergraduate Research Symposium for her insightful poster presentation on Psychological Interventions and Perceptions of Sport Psychology Among Division I Athletes.
