The Coastal Carolina men’s and women’s track and field teams showcased their prowess on the first day of the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Chants delivered an impressive performance, clinching 12 top-place finishes to lead the competition.
Sophomore AJ McKay Jr. secured the top spot in the men’s triple jump with a final distance of 14.32m. McKay Jr. also claimed second place in the long jump with a leap of 6.88m. On the women’s side, freshman Ebba Hedberg impressed with a third-place finish in both the high jump and 100m hurdles finals. Hedberg also showcased her skills in the javelin throw, finishing fifth with a distance of 36.04m.
The Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge will continue tomorrow at Doug Shaw Stadium, commencing with a series of men’s and women’s track and field events starting at 9 A.M. ET.
