The Coastal Carolina men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams showcased their prowess as they concluded the final day of the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The event spanning three days saw the Chants secure an impressive 12 top-place finishes, solidifying their dominance in the competition.
Standout athletes including Zionna Perez-Tucker, Brendan Kovar, Amanda Kinloch, Trey Kraimer, Addison Laughlin, Adam Groves, Nehemiah Cionelo, Camryn Lorick, and Mikayla Pardun, contributed to Coastal Carolina’s outstanding performance. Both the women’s 4x100m and men’s 4x200m relay teams also secured victories, further adding to the Chants’ success.
With a total of 139.5 points earned across 23 scored events, Coastal Carolina emerged victorious, surpassing in-state rival South Carolina to claim the top position on the leaderboard. The Chants’ exceptional performance also included a season-high 39 top-10 placements, highlighting the team’s depth and talent.
Looking ahead, the Coastal Carolina track and field teams are set to participate in the Weems Baskin Invitational on March 22-23 at the Creeger Track on the University of South Carolina’s campus in Columbia, S.C. The Chants aim to carry forward their momentum and continue their strong showing in upcoming competitions.
