The Coastal Carolina men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams concluded their final home meet of the 2024 season on a high note, finishing atop the leaderboard at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Over the course of the three-day meet, the Chants secured an impressive 12 top-place finishes. Standout performances came from athletes including Zionna Perez-Tucker, Brendan Kovar, Amanda Kinloch, Trey Kraimer, Addison Laughlin, Adam Groves, Nehemiah Cionelo, Camryn Lorick, and Mikayla Pardun. Additionally, both the women’s 4x100m and men’s 4x200m relay teams clinched top finishes.
Coastal Carolina’s commendable showing resulted in a season-high 39 top-10 placements for the invitational, ultimately outscoring in-state rivals South Carolina with a total of 139.5 points across 23 scored events.
Looking ahead, the CCU track and field teams are set to compete at the Weems Baskin Invitational in Columbia, S.C. on Mar. 22-23 at the Creeger Track on the campus of the University of South Carolina.
