Myrtle Beach has exciting news as Carolina Health Specialists has officially kicked off operations at its brand-new facility in Carolina Forest. After a long wait of five years—mostly thanks to the pandemic—this state-of-the-art location finally opened its doors on Carolina Forest Boulevard near River Oaks Drive. Folks here are buzzing with anticipation to take advantage of the services offered, which include CAT scans and lab work, right in our own backyard.
With Myrtle Beach recognized as the fastest growing county in the nation, the shortage of physicians has become an ongoing challenge. Carolina Health Specialists’ president and CEO, Thad Golden, emphasized this need, stating, “There’s a desperate need for physicians in this area.” He noted many locals often struggle to find good doctors, so this new facility aims to fill that gap by offering both primary care and specialty medical services.
Golden shared his excitement about how well the community has responded to the new facility. “It’s amazing to see the community appreciation and understanding of how important this is,” he mentioned. This response is undoubtedly heartwarming, especially after so many hurdles due to the pandemic.
Last Friday, a lively ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated the opening of the clinic. The day was filled with smiles, cheers, and plenty of appreciation for the hard work that culminated in this much-needed facility. “COVID slowed not only our opening but recruitment efforts for doctors as well. Most of our physicians aren’t originally from here, so it’s a challenge to attract them to live and work in this beautiful area,” Golden elaborated.
The location was chosen strategically in alignment with Myrtle Beach’s continued growth. Golden noted that accessibility was a major factor in the decision-making process. Additionally, he expressed pride in their recruitment efforts, saying, “I’ve been very successful in getting physicians and employees due to the quality of our company.” It’s all about creating a workplace that people truly want to be a part of.
Joyce Hankins, the chief operating officer at Carolina Health Specialists, echoed the same sentiment, emphasizing the unique experience they strive to offer patients. “We are trying to promote that one-stop shop feel, where patients can have ultrasounds, CT scans, and labs all done while they’re here,” she shared enthusiastically. This holistic approach is what many patients are craving, as it makes healthcare just a little easier and less stressful.
As the season changes and Myrtle Beach continues its growth spurt, it’s promising to see new facilities like Carolina Health Specialists stepping up to meet the community’s needs. Residents can look forward to a convenient place to tend to their healthcare needs without needing to trek far across town.
So, mark your calendars and spread the word! If you’re in need of medical services, the Carolina Forest location of Carolina Health Specialists is here for you. With its friendly staff and convenient services, it’s destined to become a vital part of our community. Here’s to a healthier Myrtle Beach—cheers!
