Carolina Forest Celebrates Its Community Spirit on Carolina Forest Day!
Hey Myrtle Beach residents! Have you heard? The vibrant Carolina Forest is about to showcase its community pride, and you’re invited to join the fun on Saturday, October 5th. Yes, that’s right! Carolina Forest Day is back for its second year, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic event that the whole family can enjoy.
Growing with Purpose
Now, if you’re unfamiliar, Carolina Forest is officially the fastest-growing attendance area in Horry County. As of the last census in 2020, this charming area boasted a population of 23,342. It’s incredible how much has developed here over the decades. You’ll find not just homes but a full-fledged community with a recreation center, library, senior center, post office, and plenty of service clubs and volunteer groups.
This community is pretty much like a small town with all the necessary amenities – there’s a high school, three middle schools, and three elementary schools, with two new elementary schools on the horizon. And guess what? A new county government center is also underway, complete with a shiny new police precinct to keep everyone safe!
Come Together at the Recreation Center!
So, what’s all this fuss about Carolina Forest Day? Well, according to Vinny Napolitano, vice president of the Carolina Forest Civic Association, the day is all about inviting neighbors to connect. “We all have Myrtle Beach addresses, but we’re all Carolina Forest proud,” he shared enthusiastically. The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. at the Carolina Forest Recreation Center located at 2254 Carolina Forest Blvd.
This year’s event promises an hour more than last year, to really let everyone soak in the community spirit. One of the highlights will be a lively business expo where new and existing businesses can strut their stuff and introduce themselves to potential customers. Talk about a win-win!
Government Services & School Updates
Adding to the day’s excitement, the Horry County services pavilion will be present to help locals learn all about the government services available. It’s also a great opportunity to meet local nonprofits and see how you can get involved. Plus, you won’t want to miss the representatives from the Horry County School District who will unveil the proposed attendance areas for the brand new elementary schools on the way as part of the area’s growth!
Fun for Everyone!
Of course, what’s a celebration without plenty of fun? There’ll be games, food, and exciting prizes galore! The little ones can enjoy bounce houses and trampolines thanks to Sky Zone. If your kids love candy (who doesn’t?), make sure they visit the booths in the rec center for some sweet treats – trick-or-treat style! Costumes for the kids are optional but definitely encouraged! 🍬
Hankering for some food? You can check out a diverse range of food trucks and booths offering all sorts of delicious bites. And don’t forget to groove to the tunes played by local bands entertaining the crowd with a variety of music styles.
Give Back and Get Something Special!
Here’s a little bonus for everyone: Anyone who brings a non-perishable food item for Meals on Wheels will receive a free swag bag! What a lovely way to give back while also enjoying a day filled with laughter and connection.
So, mark those calendars, folks! Carolina Forest Day is not just a celebration; it’s the heartbeat of a growing community that prides itself on being one of the best places to live! Can’t wait to see all of you there! 🌟
