Cape Cod National Golf Club proudly holds the 74th position in Golfweek’s 2025 rankings of the best resort golf courses. This Par 72 course, designed by Brian Silva, opened in 1998 and has continually impressed golfers. While it scored a 6.59, making it the highest-rated golf course in New England, it also sets the stage for exciting events such as the upcoming high school invitational on September 22, celebrating community golf and emerging talents.
Golf fans, it’s time to celebrate because the Cape Cod National Golf Club has made quite a splash! Recently released rankings have announced that this stunning course has been rated as the 74th best resort golf course for 2025. We all love a good game of golf, and what better place to enjoy it than at a venue recognized on such a prestigious list?
Golfweek has rolled out its list of the top 200 best resort golf courses for 2025, and Cape Cod National’s remarkable ranking is no small feat! It’s essential to note that these rankings focus specifically on the courses and not the entire resorts or their amenities. More than 800 experts in the golfing world evaluate each course based on a comprehensive scoring system that takes into account 10 specific criteria, using a 10-point scale.
Interestingly, this year’s list doesn’t include any perfect 10s, which speaks volumes about the high standards that are in play. In fact, only eight courses worldwide managed to score above a 9 on average. With a rating of 6.59, Cape Cod National is standing tall among its peers, making it the highest-rated golf course in New England. An average score above 8 signifies an incredible experience, while anything above 7 is deemed worthy of a trip. And while Cape Cod National might not be at the very top, it remains a fantastic option for golfers seeking a remarkable round!
Opened in 1998, this championship layout course is a Par 72. Golfers looking for a challenge will find it here, as it measures more than 6,900 yards from the back tees and 5,800 yards from the forward tees. Designed by the talented Brian Silva, this course has made a name for itself by hosting various USGA and Massachusetts Golf Association events since the early 2010s.
Mark your calendars for September 22 because Cape Cod National will be home to the eighth annual high school Invitational. This exciting event features top teams, including Longmeadow and 10 others, all vying for golfing glory. Recently, Xaverian emerged victorious at the Cape Cod National Golf Club High School Invitational, snagging their first title at the prestigious event! Finishing with a team score of 231, they beat the runner-up, St. John’s Prep, who posted a score of 236.
As the spotlight shone brightly during the competition, it was Quinn Dumas from Xaverian who led his team with an impressive score of 76 (4 over par). Meanwhile, Concord-Carlisle’s Will Spring captured the individual title with an even-par 72, which included an impressive four birdies and 11 pars. Talk about impressive golfing skills!
However, players were not without challenges. The conditions turned tough with some windy spells and heavy rainfall making the course even more demanding. But this didn’t stop Spring from rallying back after a double bogey to secure his victory with a par on the final hole. Who doesn’t love a great comeback story?
In conclusion, whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting with your golf journey, Cape Cod National Golf Club offers a fantastic experience that’s not to be missed. With its stunning design, exciting events, and now a respectable ranking, it’s easy to see why this course is booming in popularity. So, grab your clubs and head on down to enjoy a memorable day on the greens!
