First Friday Artwalk to Showcase Myrtle Beach Cultural Talent

Myrtle Beach’s Downtown Alliance has announced yet another monthly First Friday Artwalk to be held on Friday, August 2. Downtown buildings and commercial galleries will open their doors from 5 to 8 p.m. to local artists, musicians, and performers, transforming the heart of the city into a vibrant hub of creativity.

Myrtle Beach Shines Spotlight on Local Talent

The First Friday Artwalk event, launched in 2017 by local photographer Carl Kerridge and artist William H Miller, has provided a platform for local talent while promoting community spirit. These monthly events allow local artists to showcase their work, reflecting the richness and diversity of the cultural landscape within Myrtle Beach.

Inclusion of Live Performances

“Myrtle Beach has a vibrant arts culture, and we believe these monthly events are the perfect venue to highlight that culture. This month, we’ve added several live performances from painting, pottery, improv, language arts and open mic. Our intent is for this event to continue to grow month after month,” said Jason Greene, Chief Executive Officer of Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance.

Diverse Artistic Mediums on Display

A large variety of artistic mediums will be on display, including painting, sculpture, photography and others. Several artists will be demonstrating their creative process, allowing attendees an opportunity to better understand the thought and effort behind the final product. Local businesses are ready to support the event, with downtown restaurants offering dining specials and drinks for all attendees.

Public Encouraged to Attend

The event is open to the public, free of charge, and family-oriented, offering an excellent opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the vibrant cultural scene of Myrtle Beach. Attendees can wander from gallery to gallery, discovering a multitude of artworks while enjoying the friendly, vibrant atmosphere. This event continues to bolster the reputation of Myrtle Beach as a thriving center of creative talent.
