16 Arrests Made at 2024 Carolina Country Music Fest; Mostly for Alcohol-Related Charges

The festivities at the Carolina Country Music Fest (CCMF) were slightly marred as Myrtle Beach Police made 16 arrests during the course of the four-day event held from June 6 to June 9.
Arrests on and Adjacent to Festival Grounds
The apprehensions were for violations that took place both on and in close proximity to the festival site. According to Cpl. Christopher D. Starling of Myrtle Beach Police, the charges varied substantially.
Alcohol-Related Charges Dominate
Out of the 16 arrests, the majority, 10 in total, were due to alcohol-related incidents. Drinking irresponsibly often leads to unfortunate series of events, and this festival was no exception. Cases of heavy drinking causing disturbances were a large part of the disorderly conduct charges as well.
Other Charges
Further details about the charges indicate that alongside the alcohol-related arrests, there were two cases of disorderly conduct, and one individual apprehended for being a pedestrian on the highway. Additional charges included one count of petit larceny, one instance of simple possession of marijuana, and a solitary case of domestic violence.
