M.O.V. Apollos Triumphs at Big Shots National Championship in South Carolina

Big Win for the Youth Basketball Team

Across the line from Southeast Ohio and within Wood County, West Virginia’s diverse assembly of rising stars, the M.O.V. Apollos, have clinched a laudable victory at the Big Shots National Championship in the Platinum Division. The basketball team, comprised of players from the class of 2029, jetted off to Rock Hill, South Carolina, to wrap up a season that kick-started in March. The M.O.V. Apollos’ triumphant endeavor in South Carolina has made them and their coach immensely proud of their achievements and the hard work they have invested throughout the season.

Players Shine Reflection on Season and Victory

Recalling the journey and the tournament that recently culminated in South Carolina, Caleb Atkinson, a player from the team, mentioned that playing a considerable number of junior varsity games have helped the team to ingrain the right mindset against taller and more physically imposing players.

Another player, Colt Rinard, couldn’t help but express his delight for witnessing the fruits of their labor finally paying off, after dedicating countless hours to training and preparing for the game. Echoing his sentiment, Graesyn Moat, another player on the team, impressed that the victory was a payoff of their diligence and painstaking preparation.

The Team Represents Their Communities, Says Coach

Chad Rinard, the head coach of the M.O.V. Apollos, lauds his team for not only improving their game but also stepping up as community representatives. Coach Rinard stressed that one of the most prominent deeds the players can undertake is to represent their school communities and the names they carry on their jerseys.

He further terms his players as role models for young kids who can look up to them and aspire to achieve the same or better. He concludes by mentioning his excitement for the future and the positive influence that the M.O.V. Apollo players will be for the younger generations, considering their commendable individual characters.

The Journey and Victory

Despite a long season, the team culminated with an impressive record of 61 wins against 10 losses, with the Apollos securing a total of nine tournament wins in their five-month journey. Coach Rinard was found optimistic and eager, mentioning his plans to venture into more challenging games and competitions as his players continue to evolve and mature. Anticipating the future, he also revealed plans for team expansion and eager strides into getting exposure in a circuit.
