North Myrtle Beach has a fresh reason to celebrate this month! Amazon has just opened a shiny new same-day delivery facility on Water Tower Road, and it’s ready to make shopping in the area quicker and easier. This impressive 165,000-square-foot center is a game-changer for local customers, as it’s now the first same-day operation launched by Amazon in South Carolina.
Imagine this: you place an order online while lounging on your couch, and just a few hours later, that item is knocking at your door. Thanks to this new facility, that’s now a reality in North Myrtle Beach! The center allows Amazon to sort and deliver orders all from one location, streamlining the normally lengthy delivery process. “Customers who live within an hour’s drive can expect their orders, even groceries, to arrive within just five hours!” said Amazon public relations specialist Greg Rios in an email.
How does it work? Simply place an order between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and if you’re within that sweet spot of one hour from the center, you’ll have your goodies before you know it! There’s nothing quite like the thrill of receiving your online shopping that same day, is there?
But that’s not all! The opening of this Amazon facility is expected to boost the local economy significantly. It will create over 100 full-time jobs, giving a much-needed lift to the job market in the area. Sandy Davis, the president of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation (EDC), shared just how popular this opportunity has been. “At our job fair, we had the biggest turnout for South Carolina Works!” Davis revealed. “Our system even shut down because it couldn’t handle the volume of applicants!”
If you’re interested in becoming part of this exciting new chapter, Amazon is still on the lookout for fresh talent! Prospective employees can check out job listings at amazon.com/flexiblejobs and sign up for alerts simply by texting “HIREME” to 31432.
Amazon’s expansion doesn’t stop here. Since 2010, the company has created over 6,500 jobs in South Carolina alone and has pumped in a staggering $7.2 billion throughout the state. Just last week, they announced plans for an $18 million center in Florence County, which only adds to their commitment to the region.
Local leaders are thrilled with the news. “The Amazon facility has been the hugest win for us where the community is concerned,” Davis said, beaming with pride. “It’s inspiring to see so many people excited and sharing positive feelings about this project!”
As a resident of North Myrtle Beach, it’s heartwarming to witness Amazon’s investment in our community. With quicker deliveries, more local jobs, and a brighter economic outlook, this new facility is sure to enhance the shopping experience for everyone in the area.
So, as we embrace this new change, let’s take a moment to appreciate how these developments can strengthen our local economy and improve our day-to-day lives! Keep your eyes peeled for those same-day deliveries, North Myrtle Beach residents—you could be living the dream of fast and efficient online shopping sooner than you think!
