If you travel down Mr. Joe White Avenue, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for some ongoing lane closures. Yep, that’s right! City officials are letting us know about intermittent closures as part of a repaving project that’s just kicked off.
When and Where is the Work Happening?
So, when’s this happening? The whole shebang started on Sunday, October 20. The South Carolina Department of Transportation is tackling the stretch of Mr. Joe White Avenue that runs between Chester Street and Kings Highway. It’s going to keep crews busy for about three weeks, so expect to see those hardworking folks out there treating our roads at night.
They’ll be working nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., trying to smooth out and pave that important route. You know how it goes – nighttime seems like the best time to get this job done to avoid too much traffic. The plan is to continue this work westward toward Highway 17 Bypass.
