Myrtle Beach Car Wash Reopens with a Cause!

Hey Myrtle Beach! We’ve got some exciting news on the horizon! A car wash near Carolina Forest is making a splash—quite literally—by reopening its doors after being closed for a whopping seven years! Carolina Shine Car Wash is back in business, and they have something special planned for their grand opening. This isn’t just your regular wash and go; they’re showing some love to our neighbors affected by Hurricane Helene.

A Fresh Start

Can you believe it’s been seven years since this car wash was closed? One of the new owners, Ergyis, shared a little about why they bought the place. “Every time I drove here, it looked like an eye sore,” he said. “It’s been closed for like seven years. And we just thought to bring it back to life with new machines.” And boy, are they ready to shine! Their aim is to not only get the car wash up and running again but also to contribute positively to the community.

Helping Hands for Hurricane Victims

As part of their grand reopening this Saturday, they have chosen to use this occasion for a cause close to their hearts. Co-owner Chris stated, “We know people who are up there and we hear what they’re going through, and we want to give back and help out as much as we can since we can’t actually be up there to physically help them.” Their mission? To fill a box truck with supplies for the Hurricane Helene victims!

Now, here’s the cool part. If you bring supplies to the grand opening, you can snag a car wash for only $10—that’s ten dollars off the regular price! Not too shabby, right? Chris mentioned they’re looking for non-perishable food items, blankets, jackets, batteries, gas cans, food, water, diapers, and more. So, let’s rally together and show our support!

Community Support Shines Bright

Even the neighboring businesses are excited about this initiative. Laura Hofer, who works at the Circle-K right next door, couldn’t hold back her enthusiasm. “I think it’s amazing. I think it’s a great way to support other people as well as to get the business in and show them that they’re open now,” she said. She reminded us that every little contribution counts, saying, “A can of corn can go a long way. A bottle of shampoo, conditioner, anything will help. Just come down, see these guys and help out, regardless if you need a car wash or not.”

Working Towards a Bigger Goal

For Chris and Ergyis, this isn’t just about washing cars; it’s a dream fueled by blood, sweat, and tears. They are aiming to create a positive impact in the community and are charging the $10 to help cover their equipment and chemical costs. Their primary goal for this grand reopening is about helping, not about making money. After the donations are collected, the plan is to hit the road to the North Carolina mountains on Tuesday to assist those in areas like Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, and Asheville.

Join the Movement!

So, Myrtle Beach, let’s make a difference together! Whether you’re in need of a car wash or just want to help fill up that box truck, head on over to Carolina Shine Car Wash this Saturday. Gather your non-perishable items, bring your friends, and let’s give back to those affected by Hurricane Helene. Together, we can show that even in tough times, our community shines brightly!
