Coastal development plans

Exciting New Development Coming to Myrtle Beach!

Hey Myrtle Beach! We’ve got some fantastic news that’s sure to spice up our lovely town. A brand new development named Dunes Marketplace is set to pop up in the northern part of our community, similar in vibe to the popular Market Common but on a smaller scale. This is something locals will want to keep an eye on!

What to Expect?

The Dunes Marketplace will be located on an empty lot right across the street from Pine Lakes Tavern and Lets Dance Studio, sitting at the busy corner of North Kings Highway and 52nd Avenue N. What’s even better? It’s going to feature a blend of retail spaces and offices on the first floor, while the second, third, and fourth floors will house 18 apartments.

So, how much will it cost to live in one of these brand-new apartments? Well, they’re expecting the prices to range from around $450,000 to $550,000 when completed, and they’re already seeing interest! The apartments will come in two and three-bedroom options, catering to different needs and family setups. You can expect to see six two-bedroom apartments and twelve three-bedroom ones!

A Closer Look at the Features

The Dunes Marketplace isn’t just about living spaces; it’s about creating a vibrant community. Developers from Nations Homes II plan to include two restaurants, two offices, a retail space, and even a salon! That means all your favorite services could soon be just a stroll away. No more long drives for a haircut or a tasty smoothie!

Speaking of smoothies, we’ve heard some buzz about a fantastic new spot specializing in smoothies and acai bowls. Now those are something to look forward to! As of Tuesday at the Myrtle Beach Planning Commission Workshop, three of the six retail spaces have already been reserved, and it sounds like the excitement is building!

Keeping Our Community in Mind

There were some questions raised about how this new development might affect the existing homeowners in the nearby Ocean Village community. But fear not! Jeff Skelley, the President and Founder of Nations Homes II, reassured everyone, stating that the homeowners were well-informed about this project before making their purchases and even sent out postcards with renderings of the new site to keep local folks in the loop!

But don’t worry; noise won’t be a problem. A large wall will be erected with plenty of landscaping to minimize noise from this bustling new addition. Yep, they’re thinking of everything!

When Can We Expect Construction?

If everything goes smoothly with the permitting requests, Skelley is hopeful that groundbreaking will commence in Spring 2025 with the construction expected to take about 18 months. So, get ready because this would be a lovely enhancement to our growing Myrtle Beach community!

As a final note, Zillow listings are already appearing online, and the buzz has begun in our beautiful coastal town. We’re in for a treat with the Dunes Marketplace, bringing fresh living spaces and great retail vibes to our area. Keep your eyes peeled, Myrtle Beach; exciting changes are on the horizon!
