Horry County Police on the Hunt for Weekend Assault Suspects
Horry County, S.C., is buzzing with concern after a weekend assault at Racepath Park left two people injured and searching for answers. This unsettling incident unfolded on Saturday when a group of friends were just trying to enjoy a good time.
A Terrifying Encounter
Everything seemed pretty normal as the victims were hanging out with two other friends when suddenly, out of nowhere, two male suspects hopped into their vehicle. Talk about a scary surprise! For several minutes, things were quiet, and one might think they were just being friendly. But that calm was about to be shattered.
In a shocking turn of events, both victims were hit with pepper spray by the suspects. Imagine trying to enjoy a day out and suddenly being forced out of your own car! One of the suspects pulled out a gun, pointing it threateningly at both victims. Just when you think it can’t get worse, one victim suffered a painful strike as he was pistol-whipped right on the forehead.
As if that weren’t bad enough, the suspects didn’t stop there. They proceeded to punch and kick the victims, leaving them shaken and bruised before fleeing in an undisclosed vehicle. Oh, and did we mention that both suspects were wearing masks? It just adds another level of fear to an already terrifying situation.
Victims’ Response
Despite the ordeal, both victims chose to decline any medical treatment, which is quite surprising given the level of violence they experienced. They understandably refused to go to the hospital, but one victim did display visible injuries from the pistol-whipping, while the other faced some serious facial swelling and bruising. It’s a miracle they managed to escape and seek safety.
More Trouble in Conway
Victim one reported that one of the suspects had allegedly made several threatening statements against her, even expressing a desire to harm her in the past. It’s frightening to think how seriously such threats can escalate.
In this particular confrontation, the suspects kicked down the front door of the residence, armed and ready, and proceeded to assault the victims. Victim one faced the brunt of the assault, being struck with a pistol and repeatedly kicked while on the ground. How appalling is that?
What Did They Steal?
No home invasion would be complete without a bit of looting, right? The suspects ransacked the place and made off with cash, leaving quite a mess behind them. It’s troubling to think that one of the suspects doesn’t even call this location home but stays there from time to time. As for the other, they reportedly live just next door.
Arrest Made
In the wake of the chaos, 29-year-old Zoe Mackenzie Lamb has been arrested and is facing a slew of charges. These include armed robbery, robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, first-degree burglary, and third-degree assault and battery by a mob. It’s a serious list for what has become a very serious situation in Horry County.
The community is on edge as police continue their search for the other suspect involved in the weekend assault. If you have any information, remember to reach out to local authorities. Stay safe, Horry County!
